Thoughts

Remembering many festive evenings with Glen in the 'men's room' of the MacIntyre Xmas party for (at least) the last 10 years. Glen always welcomed me into the party and was a rich source of entertainment with fantastic taste in music, and a keen interest in his hobbies of walking, history, writing --- his memoirs --- and photography. He clearly loved his family. Glen's company was always enjoyed and will be missed with sorrow. I am stunned he is gone.

Glen was an incredibly warm person to know and be around. His good humoured nature was an invaluable part of the bedrock to our family being such a fun and secure place to be for us growing up but also as adults. He always took an interest in what was happening in my life and always had a little insight to share, which was particularly helpful when it came to living in Edinburgh and then starting my teaching job. He often told me stories of him and Cecily in Scotland which were so interesting and of course we shared a few laughs/moans about working in a school..! One thing I admired about Glen is when he decided to do something, he went for it, which was so evident in his photography. I distinctly remember one Christmas sitting down with Glen who showed me his photography on his iPad and it was then that I realised the extent of his talent, and I love that he properly pursued it. Another talent I admired was of course his cooking, many a delicious meal was had because of him and he always had a new trick to try in the kitchen and share with us. I will really miss being one of his culinary Guinea pigs and more than that, I will really miss his kindness and chat and cheeky laugh. He will be dearly missed in our family. X

Glen was, and always will be a brilliant uncle to me, he will be sorely missed by us all! He always gave great insight and wisdom to me anytime we were together! He had recently taken interest in my and Clara’s new home and we had been speaking about plans and ideas on what we could do with it which was lovely! Christmas’ at the Banna’s were always fantastic with his brilliant feeds as well!
